Hello,
Have you received a text saying you owe a small toll charge and must pay immediately?
Stop before clicking the link. It may be a scam.
What the scam looks like
The message may claim that you have an unpaid road toll. It may threaten a large late fee if you do not pay a small balance right away.
A typical message might say:
“You have an outstanding toll balance. Pay now to avoid additional fees.”
The link may look official, but it can lead to a fake website created to collect your credit card number, driver’s license information, or other personal details.
Three warning signs
1. The message is unexpected
You did not recently check your toll account or ask to receive a payment link.
2. It pressures you to act immediately
Scammers create urgency so you will react before checking whether the message is genuine.
3. The link looks unusual
The address may contain extra words, misspellings, or a domain that does not belong to the official toll agency.
What you should do
Do not click the link or reply to the message.
Open your toll account through the official website or mobile app you already use. If you are in Florida, type SunPass.com directly into your browser or call SunPass at 1 888 865 5352.
You can also forward a suspicious text to 7726, which spells SPAM, and then delete it.
If you entered your card information, contact your bank or credit card company immediately. Ask them to review the account and dispute any unfamiliar charges.

If a message does not feel right, you do not have to figure it out alone.
Call or text 1 844 8 ASK SAM before you click, reply, or pay.
